The Deeper Life Bible Church wins court protection over its property at 36 Aina Street, Lawanson, Surulere Lagos following the controversial demolition of its church building by Lagos authorities.

The High Court in Lagos, under Justice E.O. Ashade, issued a restraining order barring the Surulere Local Government and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) from further tampering with the land. The court also granted the church full access and use of the property for religious purposes.

The demolition, which took place on May 27, 2025, had sparked outrage after church representatives revealed it violated an existing court injunction. A ₦10 million compensation offer from the government was firmly rejected by the church as “insulting and inadequate,” pushing them to demand either a fair replacement or proper restitution.
