Churches Unite in Prayer for Peace in the Holy Land on UN World Peace Day
By Church News
Churches Together in England has issued a renewed call to prayer for peace in the Holy Land, aligning with the global observance of UN World Peace Day on Sunday, 21 September 2025.
Partnering with a coalition of Christian organizations described as “rooted in faith and justice,” Churches Together is joined by Christian Aid, Embrace the Middle East, Sabeel Kairos, All We Can, Quakers in Britain, Reconciling Leaders Network, and Difference. These groups have long been active in humanitarian and peace-building efforts across the region.
Bishop Mike Royal, General Secretary of Churches Together in England, emphasized the urgency of collective action: “There is a growing consensus amongst the churches and Christian organizations engaged in the Middle East that it’s high time we act together as one. Our message is simple: pray for peace, justice, and dignity for all.”
