Churches are launching a campaign to spread the joy of Christmas outdoors this year. This effort aims to bring festive cheer to communities by organizing outdoor events and activities, ensuring that the spirit of Christmas reaches everyone, even beyond the church walls.

The ‘Shine Your Light’ campaign, a united initiative of various denominations, prayer networks, and streams, is set to mobilize over 100,000 Christians to reach 1 million people with the Gospel this December. The campaign is calling on 1,000 churches to take their carol services, nativity plays, and other Christmas events out of church buildings and into public spaces such as shopping centres, village greens, and community centres.

Last December, more than 78,000 Christians from over 700 churches participated in outdoor carol services and nativity events, making it one of the largest Christmas outreaches by the UK Church.

This year’s campaign is scheduled for the weekend of December 13th – 15th, but churches are encouraged to register early and take advantage of a range of free resources designed to help them spread the Christian message throughout the month.

Churches Together in England, which endorses the campaign, stated, “Shine Your Light is reminding people of the true meaning of Christmas – God’s gift to the world in the person of Jesus Christ. Our 54-member church denominations unite in declaring this Christmas that ‘Jesus is the reason for the Season!'”

The campaign aims to bring the joy and message of Christmas to the public, creating a festive and spiritually enriching experience for all.
