Church Leaders Unite in Prayer for Pope Leo XIV
By Church News
Religious leaders from various Christian denominations have gathered to offer prayers for Pope Leo XIV as he begins his papacy.
From Catholic bishops to Protestant ministers and Orthodox clergy, faith leaders worldwide are joining in prayer for wisdom, strength, and guidance for the newly appointed Pontiff. Many churches have organised special services, reflecting the significance of this moment for the global Christian community.
“We ask for divine inspiration to lead Pope Leo XIV on his journey, that he may shepherd his flock with grace and humility,” said one senior church leader at a prayer gathering in Rome.
Pope Leo XIV, the first American to hold the position, has emphasised themes of inclusion, faith, and renewal since his election. His ascension follows the passing of Pope Francis, marking the beginning of a new era in the Vatican.
