Christian Woman in the U.S. Gives Birth to World’s ‘Oldest Baby’

By Marie

Lindsey Pierce, a Christian woman in the United States, has given birth to what is now being called the world’s “oldest baby”, not in terms of age post-birth, but the age of the embryo at the time of implantation.

Lindsey Pierce delivered a healthy baby girl conceived from an embryo that had been frozen for over 30 years. The embryo, created in 1994, was transferred to Lindsey in early 2024 and successfully carried to term.

Lindsey and her husband, Tim Pierce, described the birth as both a scientific marvel and a divine blessing.
“We prayed for a child, and God gave us one that had been waiting for three decades,” Lindsey said. “It’s humbling to know that this little life was preserved for so long and now she’s finally here.”

The embryo was donated anonymously and stored in a fertility clinic’s cryogenic facility before being matched with the Pierces through the National Embryo Donation Centre.
