Ordinary Angels is a gripping, emotional and inspirational drama based on an extraordinary true story.The film follows Sharon, a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed.Ed is a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. His youngest daughter suffers from a health condition and is waiting for a liver transplant. Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it.As expected with films from Kingdom Story Company, there is a high production quality, a well-written story and strong acting. Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson give very strong and believable performances as Sharon and Ed and are a highlight of the story.This true story has been directed and told extremely well, we feel the emotion (yes it is very emotional), we feel the pain and frustration but there is also joy. We see real-life struggles with faith, we see miracles and we see how God can use anyone He chooses, we see how God can use all things together for good and how a community can come together in love to support others.In terms of the faith-based content, as said above we see a real-life struggle of faith due to life’s circumstances, but we see that God is working through and in everything, we see hearts soften, and we see that faith return. It feels like part of the story here and there, but sadly doesn’t always seem the main part of the story.Overall Ordinary Angels is an inspirational movie, full of emotion that encourages us to help make a difference, to discover our God-given purpose and to support those that are in need. God can use anyone, no matter how broken you may feel you are, God can use you.
