Christian Movie Review: Disciples In The Moonlight
By Church News
Disciples In The Moonlight is a faith-based thriller that pulls you in with a firm grip through a story of high stakes, emotion and plenty of twists and turns, set in a not-too-distant future where the Bible is banned.
Disciples In The Moonlight follows a group of Christians who are recruited to smuggle God’s Word to underground churches throughout the United States where the Bible has been banned for being offensive and has been replaced by a government-approved version. With ruthless federal agents in hot pursuit, the believers must choose between following the law or honouring and trusting God.
Combined with fantastic directing, cinematography and soundtrack, alongside a believable cast, the story is well written, it is a gripping film and will have you on the edge of your seat in heart-pounding suspense.
Even though set in the future, the story brings to mind real-life stories of Bible smugglers, people like Brother Andrew and others who testify to how God helped them smuggle Bibles into countries where it was banned.
This story captures the faith and heart of people who are willing to risk everything to smuggle the Word of God and it prompts the question to all of us, would we be willing to do the same? It may even be a question that we need to answer in the not-too-distant future.
Another question we need to consider seriously is this: do we share the Word of God as much as we should right now? Do we share it with our friends, co-workers, perhaps even strangers? In such a time as this, the world needs to message of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
