Christian Movie Review: Big George Foreman
By Marie
Big George Foreman is an outstanding biopic and the ultimate inspirational story.
The film is based on the remarkable true story of one of the greatest comebacks of all time and the transformational power of second chances.
Fuelled by an impoverished childhood, Foreman channelled his anger into becoming an Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion, followed by a near-death experience that took him from the boxing ring to the pulpit.
But when he sees his community struggling spiritually and financially, Foreman returns to the ring and makes history by reclaiming his title, becoming the oldest and most improbable World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever.
Big George Foreman is extremely well made, it feels like a big-budget movie, with everything from the directing to the cinematography, the soundtrack and the acting. This is one of the best-produced Christian films.
This film is also a strong example of how you make a Christian film with a bit more grit without showing anything that would offend (such as intimate scenes or bad language, which are not shown in this film).
This is a testament to how well these parts of George’s story have been written and suggested throughout the film.
If you are fans of George Foreman or boxing, you will not be disappointed and even if you are not into boxing, this film is full of action and redemption and is definitely worth seeing.
This incredible biopic takes you on George’s journey showing us that God can use and transform anyone, no matter how far they’ve fallen.
The film’s tagline is The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World, which is why it is a miraculous and incredible story. It is a thoroughly enjoyable and accessible film showing George’s powerful conversion and how Jesus changed his life.
