Members of the cast and creative team behind The Chosen, the widely viewed biblical drama series, recently met with Pope Leo XIV during a visit to the Vatican.

The meeting took place following a general audience in St. Peter’s Square. Among those present were Jonathan Roumie (Jesus), Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), George Xanthis (John), Vanessa Benavente (Mother Mary), and series creator Dallas Jenkins. The visit coincided with a Vatican screening of Season 5, Episode 4, and followed the completion of filming for Season 6 in southern Italy.

Roumie described the encounter as a meaningful experience, noting the opportunity to share the series’ message with the pontiff. Jenkins also expressed appreciation for the visit, calling it “a tremendous honour.”
