Bishop David Oyedepo Distributes Relief Materials To Flood Victims

More than 1,000 households in Kogi state have received relief supplies from Living Faith Church founder Bishop David Oyedepo.Winners Chapel network of churches in Kogi state received relief materials and cash from the founder of the church and also extended the gesture to residents of the state who are not members of the church.The food packs given to the residents contained rice, beans, and garri and a sum of 10,000 for each beneficiary.Apart from the winner’s chapel headquarters in Lokongoma, Lokoja, other branches in the metropolis of Lokoja including LFC Adankolo, Gadumo, Ganaja, 500 housing units and other local governments including Ibaji, Ankpa, Ajaokuta, Bassa and others have benefited from the relief supplies.While closing the distribution of the aid packages, Pastor Fred Attabo, the state pastor of the Living Faith Church in Kogi, described the gesture as an initiative of the Church’s president and founder, Bishop David Oyedepo.He said, “We thank God for the leadership of this committee and the apostle of this committee, Bishop David Oyedepo who heard about the floods and immediately mobilized resources to ensure you achieve something. The prophet of the commission prays for you and the testimony of this prayer is that we have not lost a single member.“I convey to you the greetings of our Father the Apostle about this Commission which has sent the relief supplies that we are distributing today. It is my prayer that when you receive this package you will receive more help from above.”Attabo added that it is not a welfare issue but a package for flood victims alone as more than 24 local churches in Ibaji local government area were closed as a result of the flooding“The sign we are giving you is not to build another house, but to absorb the effects of the floods and alleviate the suffering of the flood victims and it will be an ongoing exercise that will be carried out from time to time”, he said.In his address, Elder Joseph Ipemida, chairman of the Flood Response Committee, instructed beneficiaries to use the food package as a way to initiate the resettlement process.“We are obligated to make sure everyone is captured and not being a member of us does not mean you are not taking advantage of the package.”Elder Joseph added that the list contains the names of more than two hundred people and that everyone will be reached, claiming that the emergency aid, which amounts to several million naira, was carried out simultaneously in all the branches, as their aid packages also went to all their churches in the nine local government areas affected by the flooding in Kogi state.ALSO READ “This Season Determines Your Future” – Bishop David Oyedepo
