Bear Grylls Says Religion Has Distorted Jesus’ True Message

By Church News

British adventurer and television personality Bear Grylls has sparked debate after declaring that organized religion has “ruined the story of Jesus,” urging people to rediscover the simplicity of Christ’s message outside institutional structures.

Speaking in a recent interview, Bear Grylls, best known for his survival shows and outspoken Christian faith said that the essence of Jesus’ teachings has been overshadowed by centuries of religious dogma and ritual.

“Religion has ruined the story of Jesus. What He came to bring was simple, powerful, and life-changing. But too often, institutions have made it about rules, control, and division,” Grylls said.

Grylls argued that Jesus’ message of love, forgiveness, and humility has been complicated by religious institutions.

He emphasized that faith should be about a personal relationship with God, not rigid rules or traditions.
