Baseball Champions Attribute Success to God
By Marie
After the Texas Rangers won their first-ever World Series baseball championship, many players and coaches publicly attributed their postseason success to God.
Coach Tony Beasley expressed his gratitude, stating, “Anyone that interviews me or gives me an opportunity to speak, God’s going to receive the glory.
Throughout the season, the Rangers’ faith was frequently made public. Third baseman Josh Jung’s bio on social media reads, “Baseball is what I do, not who I am,” and “Competitor for Christ.”
He shared his faith journey, stating, “I gave my life to Christ my freshman year of high school, and then my freshman year of college was the first time I took that step of a personal journey with Him.”
Outfielder Evan Carter and his wife, Kaylen, partnered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to sell “Jesus Won” T-shirts, with proceeds benefiting their community in Carter County, Tennessee.
The Rangers’ pitcher, Jose Leclerc, also made a bold statement with the “Jesus Won” T-shirt, testifying to his faith during the World Series.
