Authorities Target Unregistered Churches: Six Worshippers Arrested in China
By Marie
Authorities in China have detained six members of an underground Christian church, the latest move in an ongoing campaign against unregistered religious groups.
According to local sources, the arrests took place earlier this week in a province where underground churches have long operated outside the state-sanctioned religious framework.
Witnesses reported that police raided a private gathering, taking several worshippers into custody.
The detained individuals were part of a house church unaffiliated with the government-approved Three-Self Patriotic Movement.
