Archbishop Margaret Idahosa, Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International, Nigerian preacher, author and the first African female Archbishop celebrated her 80th birthday on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Edo State.

The President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, and his wife, Pastor Faith, were on hand to usher the Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University into the octogenarian club.

Archbishop Idahosa’s son, Bishop Feb, posted pictures of his mum and Bishop Oyedepo on Instagram with the caption, “Faithful is He that calls you, who also will perform it. The same God who performed this and brought Mama Idahosa gloriously to 80 will do the same for you.”

On Friday, July 21, 2023, the Benson Idahosa University, which is owned by the church, also hosted the first edition of the ‘Archbishop Margaret E. Benson-Idahosa Public Lecture with the theme, Breaking the Glass Ceiling. The event also featured the official presentation of a book titled, Christianity and Society: Essays in honour of Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa. The book was said to have been written by professors from 20 universities, with input from several CGMI pastors and bishops.

The keynote speaker at the event was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Edo State, Prof Lilian Salami.

Adorned in a purple and gold dress, Archbishop Idahosa glowed with happiness at being celebrated by her loved ones. One of the highlights of the event was when she cut her white and gold birthday cake, which had the number ‘80’ attached to its top.

Other personalities who celebrated Archbishop Idahosa were the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki; and the Head Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche, among others.
