Today, we join with hearts full of appreciation and joy to commemorate Archbishop Ignatius C.O. Kattey’s wonderful life on his birthday. He serves as a beacon of love, hope, and service to the least fortunate in our society. His steadfast dedication to God’s cause has touched the lives of many people.

His journey has been distinguished by a genuine love for those in need, a love that has motivated his unwavering commitment to care for the least fortunate. His deeds demonstrate a heart that beats in time with God’s, representing the essence of true Christian love and compassion that Christ lived while on earth.

Archbishop Kattey’s mission and evangelization have left an indelible impact across boundaries and frontiers. His trip has taken him to Cameroon, Ghana, and Madagascar, where he has conveyed the message of faith, love, and hope to people in faraway places.

His leadership and commitment have been an inspiration to many since he was appointed Archbishop of the newly formed Ecclesiastical Province of Niger Delta in 2008. He spent his life in service to God’s cause and serving humanity.

Archbishop Kattey had also published an account of his nine horrible days ordeal in his amazing book last year, depicting his persistent faith and God’s protection during his kidnapped, a witness to the miraculous power of faith and service. God surely looks over those who look over His work.
