Antonia Salzano Acutis Shares Reflections on Her Son Ahead of His Canonisation
By Church News
Antonia Salzano Acutis recently spoke about her son, Carlo Acutis, as his canonisation approaches. Carlo, who passed away at 15, is recognised for his strong faith and devotion to the Eucharist.
During her remarks, Antonia Salzano shared memories of Carlo’s spiritual life, including his dedication to daily Mass and his efforts to document Eucharistic miracles online. She emphasised his belief that the Eucharist was “a highway to heaven” and expressed gratitude for the impact his work continues to have on others.
Carlo’s canonisation, originally planned for April 27, was postponed after Pope Francis’ passing. Salzano sees this delay as an opportunity for more people to learn about Carlo’s story. She encouraged others to reflect on their faith, reminding them that holiness is within reach for everyone.
She said: “Okay, so the canonisation was suspended. But what about your canonisation? You too! You are looking at me, surprised. Maybe you forgot that God, for each one of us, has a special project. Jesus says, ‘You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.’
“We will die as photocopies if we do not realise God’s project for us. We all have the seeds of sanctity inside of us.”
