Baylor University Holds 72-Hours of Prayer and Worship Invasion

By Church News

Baylor University, a Christian school situated in Waco, Texas in partnership with Campus Ministries and Waco Churches hosted its annual FM72 event from the 19th of March till the 22nd of March. The event was organized to welcome Students, Faculty and Staff to the Campus’s Foundation Mall to worship the Lord for 72 consecutive hours.FM72 was inspired by a 90-day revival that broke out in Baylor Community in 1945, it then became a regular program at Baylor University in 2019. The purpose of FM72 is to stir a passion for Jesus Christ in the Baylor Community, this was said by Dr Charles Ramsey who happens to be the associate Chaplain and director for Chapel and Campus Ministries.According to the Baylor website, the worship event ran from Sunday, March 19, through Wednesday, March 22, and it included a prayer tent where participants could go to participate in continual worship and hear readings from the Word of God at 8pm each night. The theme of the 72-hour Prayer and Worship Event was ‘Lord, teach us to pray’, and the text is taken from Luke 11:1 which says, ‘One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples”’After the 72 hours of prayer and worship in the heart of campus, a faith-based writer, Greg Gordon tweeted that: ‘The hunger for God is palpable in this young generation’.The mission of FM72 is that each attendee experiences a clear and compelling call to know Jesus and find a spiritual community where they can grow.It is time to take inventory of one’s journey into longer prayers and to recalibrate towards what is most important, i.e our shared faith in Jesus Christ. The goal is that every person experiences a clear, caring and compelling invitation to know Jesus Christ and to find a discipleship community where they can grow and flourish.ALSO READ:  Korean Church Launches Canonization for 3 Catholic Clergymen
