Stallings Turns Down Roles Not Pleasing to Jesus

By Marie

Actor T.C. Stallings turns down every role that is not pleasing to Jesus, even if he was offered big money. To him, what God has to say is his priority. In 2015, T.C. Stallings played Tony Jordan, one of the leading roles in the Christian film “War Room.” It became a successful faith-based film in Hollywood, becoming America’s No. 1 box office movie at that time. It also remained in “the Top 10 for six weeks.”Following the big break, T.C. received various offers as an actor. So, he began starring in many projects. But in the process, he has also turned down many roles because of his Christian faith.“When a role is offered to me, or an audition or anything like that, I’ll just say to myself, ‘Can I do this in front of Jesus?’ It’s that simple,” he revealed to Christian Headlines in an interview. The actor also jokingly said that he would have become a “gazillionaire” had he not rejected offers that would compromise his faith. T.C. knows deep inside that Jesus isn’t pleased with roles that he would be required to curse or be “naked and do sex scenes.”“As a true Christ follower, if I turn to Jesus and say, ‘Can I do this?’ He needs to be able to say ‘yes’ to it,” he stressed. But the actor doesn’t claim to be a “Christian actor.” Although he played in many faith-based films, he is merely an actor who is a Christian.“I will do anything as long as when Jesus sees it, He would sign off on it,” he said.T.C. “lived in Los Angeles for ten years.” And in his journey as an actor, it has always been a challenge to audition for various roles, especially since he has to consider his Christian values.“If I got the audition, it would be a lot of times where I get there or whatever, you look at the material, and I’m just like, ‘I can’t do this. … I can’t even say this.’…,” he explained. “I’m there, and I’m saying to myself, ‘Why does the Lord even have me here?’”But the actor believes God has a purpose for him in the platform God gave him.“The Lord operates in some interesting ways,” Stallings said. “A lot of the roles that I’ve auditioned for, I never was meant to get them. It’s the conversations that I was having in a weight room with these other actors and actresses, who are trying to follow Jesus [that were important].”ALSO READ Dante Bowe Reflects on God’s blessings, Returns to Gospel Music
