The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has been honoured with a doctorate from Oral Roberts University based in America.The clergyman announced this on social media in the early hours of Thursday.According to him, he had wanted to avoid accepting the degree because he already had enough but the president of the Christian university, Dr William Wilson, came to present it to him at the camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.He shared, “I want to thank @oralrobertsu for this honour and will like the Institution to know that it has been received with all our hearts and we are extremely grateful. I made a little research and found that the number of people with more than three honorary degrees in the world are very few and I already got seven and I felt it was more than enough. But when I heard that #oralrobertsu:The greatest and best Pentecostal University in the World, was going to give me an offer, I tried to dodge by saying I could not come but the President decided to come by himself. Thank you very much and God bless you!”

Presenting the doctorate degree to Pastor Adeboye before thousands of worshippers at the Redemption City ground, the Oral Roberts University President said, “Tonight I am here to present Doctor of Divinity for distinguished service and spiritual leadership to Enoch Adejare Adeboye.“Adeboye could not be with us in Tulsa for the ceremony. I decided to bring his degree to him here in Nigeria.“It is my pleasure as Tusla President to grant Dr E.A.
