By Church News

The House of Freedom (HOF) has officially launched the 2025 Rising Stars Gospel Talent Hunt, aiming to discover the next big sensation in gospel music. The event, which took place on Monday at This Present House, Freedom Way, Lekki, marks the beginning of an exciting journey to uncover new gospel artists across Nigeria and provide them with a platform to showcase their musical talents.

Dr. Tony Rapu, the visionary behind the initiative, expressed his desire to create an inclusive space where gospel artists from diverse backgrounds can reach new heights in their musical careers. “The Rising Stars Gospel Talent Hunt is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of faith, music, and community,” Rapu stated. “We aim to uncover hidden talents, provide growth opportunities, and build a thriving gospel music scene.”

The talent hunt will run over a 12-16 week period, featuring a structured process that includes online auditions, physical auditions, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a grand finale. Participants will begin by submitting a one-minute video of themselves performing a Nigerian gospel song on Instagram, tagging the competition’s official handle. The top videos, determined by audience engagement, will be invited to showcase their vocal abilities in person.

A distinguished panel of judges, including renowned gospel artists like Mike Abdul, Tosin Martins, and Lala, alongside music producers and industry experts, will assess contestants in each round. The grand finale will see the top five finalists compete for incredible prizes, including a 3 million Naira cash prize for the winner, 2 million Naira for the runner-up, and 1 million Naira for third place. In addition to cash prizes, winners will receive recording contracts, mentorship from top gospel artists, and the opportunity to perform at major gospel events.

Pastor Dele Balogun emphasized that the talent hunt focuses not only on musical talent but also on personal and spiritual growth. Contestants will benefit from guidance on leadership and navigating the music industry. “Through the Rising Stars Gospel Talent Hunt, we aim to positively impact the gospel music community, promote fresh talent, and foster spiritual growth among the next generation of artists,” Balogun added.

The event is backed by local businesses, community organizations, and music industry professionals, whose support ensures the talent hunt’s success.

The Rising Stars Gospel Talent Hunt promises to shine a spotlight on gospel talent across Nigeria while making a significant impact on the music industry. The talent hunt is expected to provide emerging gospel artists with unparalleled opportunities, shaping the future of gospel music in Nigeria and beyond.
